This is what I ended up with.

After futzing around for hours with google maps, google earth, Photoshop, Terragen, Bailiwick, Unity3D, importing, exporting, testing in sim-on-stick, uploading the .raw file to OSGrid so I could get an OAR to import to MOSES. [Can't use RAW files there yet. Estate management to come soon.]

It doesn’t really look like Haven at the End of the Road now but the ridge is there. I think with some manual terraforming and final touches with the addition of landscaping/trees, buildings, etc. – it will be awesome

I am the wee spec in the middle so the scale seems about right.

Since resoluteness is constantly certain of death — in other words, since it anticipates it — resoluteness thus attains a certainty which is authentic and whole. But Dasein is equiprimordially in the untruth. H.308

anticipation … is a mode of an existentiell potentiality -for-Being that is attested in Dasein — a mode which Dasein exacts of itself, if indeed it authentically understands itself as resolute. … Authentic ‘thinking about death’ is a wanting-to-have-a-conscience, which has become transparent to itself in an existentiell manner. … The question of the potentiality-for-Being-a-whole is one which is factical and existentiell. It is answered by Dasein as resolute. H.309

Anticipatory resoluteness is not a way of escape. fabricated for the ‘overcoming’ of death; it is rather that understanding which follows the call of conscience and which frees for death the possibility of acquiring power over Dasein’s existence and of basically dispersing all fugitive Self-concealments. Nor does wanting-to-have-a-conscience, which has been made determinate as Being-toward-death, signify a kind of seclusion in which one flees the world; rather, it brings one without Illusions into the resoluteness of ‘taking action’. … In it Dasein becomes free from entertaining ‘incidentals’ with which busy curiosity keeps providing itself — primarily from events of the world. H.310

There isn’t even a really good picture of it.

I suppose there is some appropriateness to the fact that I looked like a big egg the entire time In any case she could see me fine.

What is more important is that for whatever reason I thought removing the psychological weights of creating yet another account and avatar creation would make it possible to get my mother to visit my world to see what I’ve been doing. She could just use Kitely to get in with her existing facebook account.

I had a wonderful time. I got to walk around with her, see her learn how to do things, get notecards, etc.  I must say she was must better at walking around that I was the first time I entered this kind of virtual world.

I clicked on her avatar to send her a friend request-which she accepted, lol. Then it hit me! I was interacting with my mother in a virtual world that I created! She is experiencing the things I constantly talk about. It was a great moment.  And she can keep coming to visit me.  This is good, especially since I am no longer right next door.

I had pause to wonder about genetic/hereditary similarities in levels of immersion or the lived experience of being in a virtual world [yeah, sucks to be me] when we came to the water’s edge and I began to cross over to get to the TAO Building. I haven’t bothered to put in some kind of crossing yet-I already have 3 rather minimal [read ugly] bridges.

“Wait, that’s water!”

” I know just keep walking straight ahead until you get to the other side.”

“Oooohhh… I don’t like this,” she said when her head first went under.

She repeated it until I saw her head come up again.  Hmmm…

I quite comfortably go walking around underwater [and flying] all the time now but I remember the first time I found myself [notice I did not say willingly went] under water.  It was not pleasant.  I felt within myself the tension associated with suppressing all kinds of automatic reactions.

Anyway I digress, We got to the other side and were able to get to the safer dock over the water on the other side of the TAO Building.

I just wanted to make a note of the experience.

It was a good day.

Imported the first virtual building I ever made [Second Life, Jan 2007] and set it up [with some minor changes] at NoumenArt Center to be The Arts Office Building again.

I suppose I could have used an updated or nicer building but I still like it. I had a very satisfied feeling when I was done then and now.

Still no trees yet, lol. Will get to that.

Well, My alter-ego stepped into a virtual world for the very first time yesterday thanks to Kitely.

They have developed Virtual Worlds on Demand that allows anyone to create or visit a virtual world using “Login with Facebook.”

It’s damn near close to a “my pet rock could create a virtual world” experience, so I’m not surprised she was able to do it.

I don’t think she was thinking when she blundered on into my part of reality and I’m not sure I’m comfortable with it.
